Nature’s Design – An Introduction to Permaculture

90 minutes – $22.00

How is Nature designed? What can Earth herself teach us when we have eyes to see, ears to listen, and hearts to feel?

The patterns that we find in the natural world are secret whispers of Earth’s hidden intelligence. The intricate veins of leaves, the winding course of rivers, the migration path of birds, the spots on a leopard’s back… all can teach us surprising things about how we can design our human systems and habitats in ways that are symbiotic and regenerative for our planet.

In this introductory class you will discover the magick hidden in the mundane; what Nature’s patterns teach us and how we can use them to retrain our thinking and creative capacity to design in harmony with Earth.

We will also cover:

  • The origins and history of Permaculture, what it is and what it can do.
  • The ethical framework of Permaculture that provides a simple and stable ideological basis for sustainable living and stewardship of the Earth.
  • The set of thirteen defining principles that guide us in creating sustainable human systems and regenerative solutions.
  • The 5 Steps of the Design Process.

After this class you will have a clear understanding of what is possible and just how fun regrowing Eden can be! From large-scale regenerative projects to growing veggies in your backyard, you will know how to connect to the Earth in deeply powerful ways and continue learning from her and co-creating with her.

After completing this class you can choose to continue your studies with a full Permaculture PDC Certification Course through one of our partner schools.

ABOUT Your Teacher:

Mehta Mayah

A woman of the wild, Mayah grew up on sixty acres of Canadian woodland and spent her early years running through fields, building forts in the forest, tending to gardens, and saving tadpoles from shrinking puddles in late spring. Her deep sensitivity to the energy of the natural world allowed her to develop telepathic communication with the plants and creatures around her. After completing a Permaculture Design Certification program in 2016, she understood what her experiences as a child were trying to show her- that there is a way of allowing Earth Herself to speak to us, guide us, inhabit our minds and lead us towards a higher evolution as symbiotic beings. She now teaches Deep Ecology fused with Permaculture to help awaken others to the magick of being a human synchronized in Mind, Body, Heart and Soul with Earth.
