What is the Day out of Time?
The Day Out Of Time is the 365th day, the final day of the year, in the 13 Moons Galactic Calendar, based on the Mayan Science of Time.
For the Maya, as for most Ancient and Indigenous cultures, the human relationship to time is based on the patterns found in Nature. As cycles repeat and seasons come and go, Time is felt as Divinely orchestrated Art.
By seeing Time As Art, one can align in synchronistic harmony and learn to live easily; to go with the flow; to build steady, sure and slow. Empires, dynasties and great civilizations like that of the Maya have risen (and fallen) to the rhythm of the Music of the Spheres. It’s time we re-opened our ears.

The Cherokee Nation kept track of time using a turtle shell, as the pattern on the back of this ancient creature is composed of 13 large inner segments and 28 smaller segments around the perimeter. A wink of perfection from the Divine! Slow, steady and long-lived, the Turtle has been on Earth since the prehistoric era. She is the totem of Grandmother Earth and the Cosmic Timekeeper, teaching patience, wisdom and harmony. In the Creation Myths of the Lakota, the Earth itself is on the back of a giant turtle that swims through the Cosmic Ocean; the Universe.
A Perfect Harmony of 13 Moons
A solar year on Earth always contains 13 lunar cycles and the average length of a lunar cycle is precisely 28 days. Counting 13 months— or moons— of 28 days each produces a total of 364 days. The 365th day is celebrated as the Day Out Of Time. And the following day, we begin the count of a new year.
By aligning to the beauty found directly before us, we synchronize to both the Lunar and Solar cycles, and by extension the entire Cosmos, without any need for the messy leap year concept used in the outdated and limiting Gregorian timekeeping.
Why the new year in the summertime?
Since ancient times, an important stellar alignment has been observed every year during what is the month of July in the Gregorian Calendar. This is the heliacal rising of the star Sirius B with our Sun. Sirius B is a blue-white supergiant and one of the brightest stars in the night sky. It is of prime importance to both navigation and agriculture. The Egyptian Sothic calendar was also based on this conjunction between Sirius and our Sun as it marked the annual flooding of the Nile in ancient Egypt. The Sirius Gateway ushers in a season of higher frequencies when more interstellar light reaches Earth. With a higher potential of energy and consciousness, gifted to us by one of our closest interstellar neighbors, we mark the beginning of a new Earthly-Galactic year.

The Day Out Of Time is a day of rest, relaxation and celebration. No trade or commerce is conducted, and ceremonies are held to uphold the sacredness of life; the interconnectedness of all things, and to mark the end of one cosmic-earthly cycle and the beginning of another.
The Foundation for the Law of Time is an international organization closely connected to the wisdom teachings of the Ancient Maya that promotes calendar reform as the single most important thing humanity can do to establish planetary peace. Our relationship to time forms the foundation of our connection to Nature and the Cosmos, ourselves and each other. As Above So Below. As Within So Without.
The Gregorian calendar with its irregular months of an arbitrary number of days, is neither scientifically accurate nor calibrated to anything within the Cosmic Harmony. The linear perception of time that it produces locks human consciousness in a scarcity paradigm where time is always running out and hectic stressful lives are thought to be normal.
